We had a pretty fun weekend. Jack ended up calling us during the week and asked us to go to Santa Cruz with him and Justin. But, because of all the smoke from the fire, we were unable to make it. So, we ended up going to Fairytale Town and played there for the day. It was pretty fun playing with Justin.
I've also started pet sitting, again. I had a job this weekend. I watched this cutie pie named Penny. She's about 11 months old, and a very active Jack Russel. She loves all the attention I gave her. She makes me want a puppy again. She is going to be a repeat client during Thanksgiving. (I'm so excited!) If anyone knows anyone that needs a pet sitter, give them my number. I use to pet sit all the time when I worked at the vet.
I've also decided that I'm not busy enough. I'm filling out applications to become a Big Sister (I heard it's a very long process). Also, I was to volunteer for the Special Olympics, Shriner's Hospital, and the Sacramento Children's Home. I was also thinking of the Sacramento Zoo, but it's pretty far to drive. I have to be scheduled for an exact shift (no buts about it). I don't think I'll have time for that with all this. I really want to work with the aquatic animals, anyways.

Keeping Busy!

My book I've started

Our poster we've hung (there's more)

So, we've been keeping ourselves busy. We finally hung all our Europe pictures and posters we wanted to. We bought all the frames at Aaron Brothers when they were having their annual 1 cent sale. I've been reading anew book (that Jason bought for me for Christmas). It's a very good book, it just didn't catch my attention, like some of my other books.
Yesterday, we started our day by hitting the gym. Jason agreed to go while I was in my cycling class, he did the weights (45 minutes). Them we met up for a 1 hour game of racquetball. Man, were we beat! I'm glad we played right afterwards, and not a few hours later.
After we relaxed, and came out of our coma, we got ready for 2nd Saturday in Sacramento. We drove past it last month (but didn't have time to stop), and decided we were going to go this month. We were so hungry, we stopped off at this little place that had some live music and had a couple of beers and nachos. One of the first galleries we went to was at a spa. We loved the free wine tasting and food. The spa was called Super Spa. It looks like a place I would actually go to. The prices aren't that bad either. Their website is www.superspa.me. The winery they had there was so nice and very tasty. the guy was funny and entertaining, too. Then, we headed to this area that a group of people rent separate rooms and ran into one of my old graphic design instructors, Tom Fiilabrown. We also saw some cool ceramic art by Nathan King. It was so awesome! Everyone should check it out: www.myspace.com/koibeetle. AS we walked through this alley that hey blocked off, we ran into Misumi with the Sac City Roller Girls team. She use to work with Jason at Macy's.
This morning, we were suppose to go hiking, but at the very last second, we decided not to go (it was also very late, and hot). We'll go next weekend! I can't wait! I think we'll try to find another waterfall some place in Auburn. I'm not sure why I like waterfalls so much. It's probably because there's a reward at the end of the hike (swimming). So, we are watching the first disc of Six Feet Under. It's a pretty funny show (dark humor), just up my alley. Next is X-Files. We're watching all our X-Files in order, from the first disc to the last (I've never done that before).

This weekend was a great weekend! On Saturday, Jason hung out with his friend, and I got the entire house to myself. I slept in, and lazed around until he got home. When he arrived, it was time to play racquetball. After the amazing game (for once it was close), we had pizza and mojitos on the balcony. Too bad the pizza mad us very sick! It effected me almost instantly, and Jason the next day. We think Mickey even snuck some pizza, because he was sick all Sunday.
Sunday, we slept in (we never do this, we're always on the go) until 11! We had a nice relaxing breakfast and headed out on our day trip to hunt for waterfalls. We love this website: http://www.waterfallswest.com/. It gives exact directions (driving and hiking) to all kinds of waterfalls. So, we went to the north fork, of the north fork, of the north fork of the American River. I know, very confusing. It was just past Emigrant Gap. It said it was an easy hike, so we just wore our flip flops. It was pretty easy, until we got to the rocks. My shoes don't have any traction, so, I kept slipping. I ended up just finishing up the trail bare feet. The rocks wee sharp, but not too bad.
When we finally got down to the water, there was probably about 20 people (all locals) there. They were cliff diving. I think Jason wanted to, but we don't have medical, so that wouldn't have been a good idea. Some of the people (that probably do this every weekend) were getting pretty close to the rocks, so I didn't want to dive either. It was a blast swimming around, watching them and very small amount of rock climbing (bare foot).
On our way home, we got stuck in a little traffic. Don't you just love beautiful days in CA? I need to find more waterfalls that are still running in August! We love hiking to find the beautiful falls. We love hiking and being outdoors in general! Once we got home, we un-loaded and took a shower. I love nice cool showers after a hard day of swimming and hiking. It almost makes me feel like a kid again (getting dirty and being in the sun all day swimming). We then finished up our lest few discs of Carnival (a HBO series). It was so great getting some alone time (while Jason had his fun), and being lazy (while still working out all weekend), and spending a fun, great time with the best husband a woman could ever ask for!
