Holidays

The past few weeks have flown by. I can't believe it's already January 2011! For Christmas, it was nice and quiet. We went over to BJ and Al's (family friends) and spent the evening over there. We had a great dinner and enjoyed great company with family that we haven't seen in a very long time. It was lot of fun!

Here are some decorations from around the house (mostly the living room).

Our nutcracker.
Our Christmas tree.

Got to have our stockings hung up for all 5 of us (me, Jason and all 3 cats).

X-mas morning, I woke up before Jason and stared at him until he opened his eyes. Since he's a light sleeper, it wasn't long. We opened stockings and played with the cats new toys. Then, it was present opening time. We went pretty easy on presents this year, but they were still great.
Jason made breakfast afterwards, and we lazed around the house until it was time to eat. I made pot roast in the crock pot for dinner. I didn't have much to prep this year. It was pretty quick to get dinner ready, once it was time.

Here we are x-mas night, after a very filling dinner. Jason had his apple pie for dessert. Since I'm not a pie person, I made myself brownies for dessert. Everything for dinners, desserts and snacks were are fresh and home made.

For the last 2 weeks, I only had 3 days work weeks. Jason did have 4 day work weeks. On my extra day off, I got a lot of work done around the house (shopping for food, cleaning and stuff like that). On the 30th, I had a dr's appointment for my knee. It was all good news. All I have to do is strengthen my quads and I should be back on track. I can even continue my normal workout routine (as long as my knee isn't in too much pain). I start back tomorrow.

New Years Eve was another quiet day (weekend). We stayed home and ordered pizza and caught up on our X-Files that we've been wanting to finish for about 2 years now.
That morning, we slept in and cuddled with the kittens.

And cuddled a little more.

We ordered our pizza from Master Pizza down the street. Their pizza isn't bad, and it's a great price.

We got the garlic cheesy sticks for free, along with a 2-liter soda.

For a Christmas present I gave Jason some beers from all over the world. We popped some of those open while we ate our pizza. This one is from the Himalayans.

Here we are just before midnight on NYE!!

Since then, I've been scanning old photos and making them all digital on my computer (and of course backing hem up). Jason has been catching on the mini figure paintings. Our goal was not to step foot outside and I think we've accomplished that goal. Tomorrow starts a normal work week for both of us. It's going to be so difficult to get back on track. I wish we could always have 3 day work weeks (but get paid for 5). Just think, if I was President, we would be more in debt.
