We ate our lunch under the bridge like trolls

Such a sunny day

So pretty

The start of our hike

That's where we came from (no we didn't drive down)

So, on Saturday, we went for a hike in Auburn. I really wanted to get out of town and away from what we do every weekend. We found this place called Black Hole of Calcutta Falls. It was a pretty easy hike going down and we could hear the falls from a distance. It wasn't a huge fall, but it was pretty. Since the hike was so small, we kept going. We ended up at the American River. There were a few people down there. He grabbed a few rocks and had a picnic. It was so quite and such a beautiful day. We got some sun and were able to relax on our hike. We ended up going back up from the rocks. We made our own trail and had fun doing it. We walked a little ways on hwy 49. My heels were pretty beat up (I'm still breaking in new hiking shoes). When we got home, we showered, changed and relaxed the rest of the day. What a great sunny Saturday with the greatest hubby!

On Sunday, we had a birthday party for our friends' twins. They turned 3. They are so cute. I just want to say Happy Birthday to Ian and Charlotte. It was also a great time to catch up with some friends we haven't seen in a while. Now, we're going to watch the current season (that's out on DVD) of Californication. What a great way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon.

I can't believe it is finally 2010. 2009 has gone by so fast! We're glad it is finally over and we can move on. It has been an exciting year (Europe, Jason graduating, and a lot of other things). Holidays are officially over. I'm not saying that we didn't enjoy the four day weekends and the parties. We defiantly did! We're just glad to be getting back to "normal".
Jason is going to start looking for a full time job (local for now). We did look at some apartment places in MD and VA. I'm getting more and more excited each day. I know it's a ways away, I'm just looking forward to a change. My portfolio is slowly coming together. It's so much to do for it. So many things to do, so few hours in a day.
Tomorrow starts reality for us. Jason's has his job hunting to look forward to and I have work and the gym. Busy, busy days a head of us (as usual). Yay!! On New Years, we just relaxed and ordered a pizza and had some beers and watched some movies. The next day, we had a full turkey dinner. Since neither of us had it for Christmas, and they had an extra turkey, they decided to invite us over. It was a nice evening, ate and watched a movie. It was also a nice movie.
Happy New Year to everyone. Happy 2010!!
