Happy Valentine's Day

Us after our big dinner

Jason's pecan pie (from scratch)

My cardamon spiced cake (from scratch)

We enjoyed our Valentine's Day! The night before, I made a special dessert for Jason. I made his favorite, pecan pie. Since I don't like pecan pie, I made myself cardamon spiced cake. Jason thought I bought his pie. My cake turned out pretty yummy (of course). For our special dinner, we had four courses. The first course was artichokes with a lemon-mayo dipping sauce. Second course was a big salad with tomatoes, avocado, olives, cheese, and cucumber with Italian dressing. Third course was chicken Parmesan with fresh green beans and mashed potatoes. Of course, the last course was our special desserts. Of course, everything was made from scratch. I love cooking and baking! It's a big hobby of mine. A nice Riesling accompanied our yummy meal. We were so full after dinner, it hurt to walk Roxy.
Jason is on his second week of working nights. He is liking his job, pretty boring though. My nights are going by pretty fast, since I've been keeping myself busy at the gym and cleaning more. I've been planning more dinners, so Jason can have something for dinner when he goes to lunch. I love planning, so it's no problem. Plus, I would do anything for Jason.
Jason really is my one and only Valentine!

Keeping Busy!

Ingredients for the Mojitos

The finished product

Out little, wiggly family

So, we've been keeping busy. I've been working out a lot. Jason has found a job. He is now working at Gap int Rocklin. He works in the call center / online center. He's their loss prevention guy (which is made of a team). He is making a really good impression on these guys. He knows a lot more about their equipment than they do. He also has some really good ideas to help them out with some stuff. The only bad thing is that he is working Tue-Sat 3:30pm - midnight. With me working Mon-Fri 9-6 and working out afterwards, we won't have that much time together. This will all be worth it. We should we have of our bills paid off in about 1 year (which helps when he's looking for a permanent job).

I am so proud of Jason and I love that he is willing to give up his Saturdays (game playing days) to take this job. The photo above is our sad attempt of our family photo. We've also been having some mojitos. We love them. Jason loves his new Boston shaker and muddler. They really make the mojitos making experience a lot easier.
