My beautiful Garmin
My magazine. As you can see, I can inspiration around the house of how I want to look
I am finishing up week 3 of training for my half marathon. My race isn't until May 2011, but, I do need a lot of work. I'm not the greatest runner, but I love to run. It is so much fun. I love being out of the road, and no one else is in my head, except for my MP3. It really is a great feeling. I am also taking measurements, and photos of my progress. Right now, I'm pushing myself pretty hard. Not many people want to hear this, but I'm trying to lose a few pounds, which means a quicker race time. The less weight you have to hull around, the faster you will go.
With all the classes I am taking, all the running and the semi-diet, I am really seeing some progress already. Here's my schedule:
Monday: run 5K (3.1 miles), 50 minutes of spin class, and 60 minutes of yoga
Tuesday: 30 minutes on elliptical, 30 minutes on abs, 15 minutes on row machine (will eventually add in some weight on this day)
Wednesday: run 5K, 45 minutes spin class
Thursday: run 5K
Friday: Rest (errands day)
Saturday: 50 minutes spin class
Sunday: Long run (right now 5K)
This keeps me pretty busy. I'm also trying to stay away from sweets. I get my sugar from fruits right now. I'm hoping to keep this up. I get my cooking fix from making all dinners from scratch (as much as possible).
Jason is being so supportive through all of this. I really appreciate him so much. All I really do is talk about my diet or training. He was so sweet, he surprised me with my new watch (I've had it about a month now). I love it so much. It is a Garmin. This watch has GPS, so it tracks, where I go, how fast I run, and what my calorie burn is. I can track my progress as my training goes. It's pretty cool to use this for a race, and then compare the races. Jason even bought me my subscription to Runner's World that I've been wanting. I can read every article in there a thousand times and never get bored. It really gets me inspired to go out and run, or even just eating better. Training is defiantly my new hobby.
