Wish we could have gone up there...plenty of snow
It was such a great day for a road trip to Tahoe
Crazy amount of nachos (the 2 guys in the back are also sharing the same nachos)
The view from the balcony
I've been wanting to go to the snow and play. I love snowball fights and sledding and making snow angels. I did grow up in Orangevale, so there was never any snow. I always loved it when my brothers would bring snow home from their trips. That was always the highlight of my winters.
A few weeks ago, I went to my parents house and took my sled they were storing for me. I don't really remember ever being on it, but what a better time than now to be a kid. I talked Jason into getting up early and driving to Tahoe. Tahoe has something we both like...now and McP's Irish Pub. Now, this Irish pub is the best! They have the biggest nachos and the best (not for a bad price). We stumbled across this pub the last time we were here. I want to go back every time we go.
When we first arrived in Tahoe, Jason needed coffee badly (this is because he is on a weird sleep schedule because of work)! I knew of this little coffee house just before the lake. We were the only ones there for a very short time. This older lady and her teenage son came in. I found out too much about her. She was a school teacher that was having trouble finding someone to cover her classes and her and her family were on vacation. I knew all of this because she was shouting on her cell phone and passing throughout this teeny tiny coffee cafe. It was like someone talking on their phone in your bedroom. This lady made call after call after call. I lost count of how many calls she made in the 20 minutes she was there. I felt bad for her son. What quality time she was spending with him on their vacation.
My main goal of this trip was to play in the snow. Silly us, thought there wold still be enough. If we wanted to really play, we would had to gone to the top of Heavenly and slid down it (no we weren't going snow boarding). Since my plans were a bust, we ended up walking around the art galleries and checking out the local artists. There was pretty nice stuff!
Once we got hungry, we made our way to the best Irish Pub ever (right across the "street" from Heavenly). We sat out on their enclosed balcony. We always share the nachos and grab a couple pints of beer. They were just as great as we remembered! Can't wait until we go back (hopefully sooner than later).
