Michele's Birthday!!

The card Jason made

So, my birthday was last month. I enjoyed it so much. When I got home from work, Jason had dinner preparing, and a foot bath all ready to go. As I walked into the bedroom, he had my presents all laid out. Since I'm really into working out, he bought me some books I've been wanting. It was so sweet, he even made my own birthday card. As I soaked my feet in the bath and watched my girlie shows, he pured me a mimosa, and made me dinner. What a great guy I have.
Things have been going well here so far. Jason's last semester of school is in full force. It seems to be a pretty easy semester (compared to last). As many people know, I am a TV-aholic. So many shows are starting this week. It's going to be pretty difficult to keep up, since I don't get home from the gym until about 7:30pm, and I go read for about a hour (or until I fall asleep) at 10pm. So much to do, so little time.
Last weekend, I had another dog sitting gig. It was for someone in my apartment complex. That was the easiest money I've ever made. Not a single cent came out of my pocket to do this. The best thing, the dog was so easy, no problems at all.
Jason's birthday is next weekend, and it turns out that we are going to Santa Cruz. I'll take lots of pictures and post them on our shutterfly website.

Labor Day Weekend!

Our new digs...we look HOT

My nice bottle of wine

Pretty nails

This was a pretty nice weekend. It started off by getting a manicure and pedicure after work on Friday. I came home and had a great halibut for dinner with a nice bottle of wine. Jason was online with his friends, so I got the evening to myself (for the most part).
Saturday was a different story. We never realize how much of home bodies we are, until we go out all day. We had a bunch of errands to run (dropping off my car, and a lot of shopping). Macy's was having their annual huge Labor Day sale. Since Jason needs a suit for his job interviews, we decided this was as good of time as any. I also needed a little black dress for his graduation. We spent an entire day shopping for that, and groceries, and little minor things, as well. People were pissing us off. Old people were trying to kill (by running us off the road), and younger people were just being stupid. We couldn't wait to get home. We've never been so relieved to put away groceries.
Sunday, we did absolutely nothing. Well, we did watch a couple of movies (Grand Torino and He's Just Not That Into You). It was such a lazy day, and we needed that after Saturday's activities. Monday, we just had some minor things to do around the house and are able to relax and do whatever we want to. I don't want to go to work tomorrow and Jason doesn't want to go to school tomorrow. Oh well, back to reality (in about 13 hours). Well, it's time to take my chocolate pound cake out of the oven!

lake Clementine

Pretty water right behind us

The water felt so good

So relaxing

It was pretty rough there

So, Last weekend we felt like getting out of town. We headed up to Auburn (one of our favorite places to go hiking). We were trying to head to Lake Clementine. We went a little past it and ended up at the Upper Lake Clementine. There was no shade a lot of people swimming. Stupid me, I forgot to wear my swim suit. Jason kept telling me to go in my shorts and t-shirt, but we had errands to run afterwards, and didn't want to. I was going to go in my underwear, but there was too many people around.
We knew we weren't at the place we wanted to be (we went with Roxy once, but they don't allow dogs). We asked the park rangers and they told us how to get there. We drove a little ways, and parked between some big trucks with their big boat trailers (near the boat dock). We followed this little trail (both of us were wearing flip flops). By the time we got to the bottom, we found a bunch of rocks. We ended up bouldering to the water and soaking our feet (which desperately needed it ...it was about 100 degrees at that time). We had a snake and took in the scenery. We were thinking we were going to run into some rattle snakes. Luck for us, no snakes.
When we were heading back up, the park rangers were gone, and we noticed a huge cloud of smoke. That's when the Auburn fire started. I'm glad we got out of there when we did. The needed up closing of 49. There were so many fire trucks, ambulances,, and police cars heading up that way (even from Sacramento).
We ended up having a blast and getting some sun. We can't wait until our next adventure. It might be a while, because Jason just started school.
