Such a Busy Weekend!

A few weeks ago (yes, I'm very behind on this blog), we had a very busy weekend. On Friday, right after I got home, we filled the ice chest and packed up our dinner and headed out to Rocklin for the concert in the park. The band that was going to be playing was suppose to be a classic rock band. I don;t classify Brittany Spears as classic rock.

This was before many people got there. People did not have personal space. People kept bumping in Jason and laying their crap on our blanket. So annoying.

This is us, we're getting bored, so we left a bout 1-2 songs early. The band wasn't that good. We've learned that we don't want to go to a concert in the park in Rocklin ever again. We learn the hard way. We still had some fun.

On Saturday, I didn't do my normal spin class that I do. I had to concentrate on everything I ate and when I ate because I had a night time race in Davis. I've never ran at night before, let alone a night time race. I was pretty excited.
I've been training =for my 1/2 marathon (that's coming up on May 2011), and I really wanted to lower my time for this 5k (3.1 miles). I wanted to see anything in the 30 minute range (30:59 would be fine).
We got there early, to have an OK parking spot. We got there 2 hours early and walked around and watch the band play and enjoyed some free samples of Jamba Juice. Jason had Chinese food while I watched him eat it. I snacked on a protein bar before the race. I was happy and nervous. I haven't been nervous for a race since my first one back in 2004. here's everyone around the "expo" area.

That night, they were also having a 1/2 marathon at the same time. We got a late start, and they kept us waiting at the start line. Every 5 minutes, they would say"just 2 more minutes". I wish they would have said "we're running late, it'll be a half hour". We would have be better with that. I don't know if you can see, but I'm in the middle in the pink tank top. There I go.

It was pretty nice running at night. I really liked it. The course was pretty flat and easy to see through. There weren't many dogs or strollers, which is always great! As I crossed the finish line, I saw 32:05. I looked at my Garmin and saw 30:58. I started my Garmin as soon as I crossed the start. They started their time when they said go. If you were in the back, which I was, you got your time screwed up. At least I know my really time! I'm so happy I finally did it!
Here I am, tired, and sweaty after the race.

You can see the sweat a lot better here. I was starving. I'm so glad they provided dinner. We had sandwiches from Beach Hut Deli. I love that place. It was so good and it hit the spot.

Here's my cool gear from the race. I love my new shirt. I also wore a glow bracelet so people could see me in the dark.

On Sunday, we got up bright and early (before it got too hot) and took Roxy girl to Folsom Lake to play around. She loves the lake. I took her soccer ball (her favorite to play in the water with).

She is very intense when it comes to her ball.

Whenever we walked anywhere, she carried her own ball all by herself. Such a good girl.

She loves playing in the water. She's so cute.

When we got home, it was bath time. She loves her bathes when she's dirty. I needed to wash off all the lake water...she smelt pretty bad.

This last weekend, we just hung out at home and relaxed. I've started another blog talking about my training and the foods that I eat. I've started asking people if they want to donate their products and I would review them. So many people are saying yes. I can't believe that this many people actually want to hear what I have to say about their products. Right now, I have 33 people following me. It's soo cool. I've received some of the samples, already and they are sending A TON of stuff. I may never have to go grocery shopping again. I'll try to post some pictures of some of the stuff I've received so far. I have a feeling that this weekend will be full of playing with my new toys / goodies.
