Batting Cages

On Saturday, we took a break from our busy errand running day to spend some time hitting some balls at the batting cages. It was pretty fun. Since I've never been to the batting cages, I wasn't sure how it worked.
Jason did pretty well (he use to play little league). I tried baseball (at 65 mph) and slow softball pitches. Softball sucked! I couldn't hit anything. It was sooooo slow, it took forever to get to me. Both of us were disappointed by that. The baseball pitch was so low to the ground, it made it difficult to hit, but we managed. This was a nice, little break from our crazy day.
We were able to pick up some free firewood from a co-workers' neighbor. We have fires for 1 more year!! We had a fire that night. It was so cold outside, when we got back from walking Roxy, we needed a fire! I love that smell. Mickey cuddled up on Roxy's bed, right in front of the fire. While, Roxy cooled off in the kitchen. It was such a nice way to end such a busy day. We love nights like these.
