Parkway Half Marathon

On April 29th, Jason and I headed downtown to pick up my race bib and d-tag (timing chip). I was so happy!!

I had to fuel up for my race!

Race day had finally come! I used the restroom before the lines got too long, but there were a lot of places to go.

It was so cold that morning, I was trying to soak up as much warmth as I could.

Bad pipes started us off.

I'm off to the right with the red sleeves.I was just happy to get started.

Overall, the race wasn't that bad. There were only minor hills (I wouldn't really call them hills, though). There were so many spectators, which really made the race. Water and aid stations were found every 2 miles, or so. I saw Jason when I got about /1 mile away from the finish line. As soon as I saw him, a huge smile was plastered on my face. I meant so much that he would stand around for a couple of hours while I ran and be so supportive.

All the late nights at the gym and the long runs and bad attitude when I had a bad run, he was always there for me. He may not have understood all my emotions I was going through, but he was there for me.

2:15:58 later, I crossed that finish line and earned my medal.

Part of the race is the post-race lunch,

and post-race massage (all free!!).

After I relaxed a while, I tried to find my name on the finishers list, but never could. It was the next day when I found the final results.

After we got home and I took a warms shower, I tried to relax and fall asleep, but I was just too excited and on my runners high, I was wide awake.

After a sleepless afternoon, we met some friends to celebrate!!

It was such a great night! I want to thank everyone, again, for coming out and helping me celebrate!! It really means a lot.
